Teahan K Jewelry

Kathie Narcizo is the creator of the Teahan K jewelry line. Each piece is hand knit (using knitting needles!!!), woven, or sewn. Such an unusual technique! Kathie uses fine, argentium sterling silver wire or 14k gold electroplated wire to create her intricate and lacey looking designs. Her pendants are on 16 inch chains with a 1 inch extender chain.
To accentuate her designs, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, black onyx, golden agate, aquamarine agate, and hematite are sometimes used.

Kathie has an extensive textile collection at her home in Newport, Rhode Island including handmade quilts made by her mother. The colors, textures and patterns, “speak to me in a language I understand,” says Narcizo. She is primarily a fiber enthusiast who applies the textile techniques to metal. She often studies the stitch work that artists use to help with inspiration and ideas for her jewelry line.

What we love about Teahan K jewelry here at the gallery is that it can complement our other artists’ designs, but also holds its own when worn as a set. She has dainty, simpler designs as well as bigger, bolder designs. It’s original, but comprehensible. It’s intricate, but not busy. It’s lovely to look at and beautiful to wear.
