Al Stirt is a internationally recognized woodturner. He has given workshops in woodturning throughout the world. His work is in the permanent collections of about 30 museums, including the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the White House Permanent Collection, and the American Craft Museum in New York.

This striking turned bowl features amboyna burl, an exotic hardwood prized for its luminous golden-amber hues and intricate, swirling grain patterns. The burl's natural figuration creates a dynamic visual landscape that shifts subtly with changing light, revealing the wood's inherent complexity and depth. Hand-finished to a refined polish, the bowl's smooth contours invite both visual contemplation and tactile engagement. A distinguished statement piece that celebrates the rare beauty of this tropical wood, perfect for the discerning collector who values artisanal craftsmanship and nature's extraordinary artistry.
