I recently designed two pieces of jewelry that I allowed the boulder opals to speak for themselves, meaning, that I used precious little metal elements along with the boulder opal.  Drilled a drusy quartz stone and added a peridot off center.  You can wear this piece as a bracelet or add a chain and it's a necklace.  Very cool!
