Bill and I took a great trip to Lightening Ridge and the Blue Mountains this 2018 trip, along with visiting the Koroit mines.  Great time!  We covered a lot of territory, about 3000 miles.  Great sites along the way.    Loved the vineyards in New South Wales, the Blue Mountains are home to the second largest canyon in the world after the Grande Canyon.  Spectacular!    This sculpture below, welcomed us at some point along the way and the water towers had epic paintings.

 

Beautiful Yowah nuts are always a bonus!  We were very fortunate to get a few splits and of course the extraordinary "Eyes of Horus."    Being a natural split, & if small enough, they make for a perfect pair of earrings.  Hundreds of Yowah opals are split open before one gets specimens like these... truly amazing.
